Microsoft has a history of creating innovative controller solutions for individuals facing challenges with traditional gamepads. In alignment with Gamescom, the company has introduced yet another adaptive option aimed at enabling more gamers with disabilities to play seamlessly. The upcoming Xbox Adaptive Joystick is set to launch early next year, providing a customizable controller designed to meet diverse needs. This joystick offers the ability to modify the size of the analog stick to better suit personal preferences, while all six buttons can be reprogrammed, allowing for a personalized control layout that caters to individual gaming styles. Additionally, this device can be connected directly to either a PC or an Xbox console and can be used in conjunction with Microsoft's existing Xbox Adaptive Controller, offering even greater flexibility for users. The anticipated price for the Xbox Adaptive Joystick upon its release in 2025 is approximately $300. Moreover, Microsoft is collaborating with the third-party manufacturer 8BitDo to create the Lite SE Xbox Controller, another accessible option designed specifically for people with various disabilities. This new controller integrates all the standard buttons of a regular Xbox controller into a more accessible top layout, enhancing ease of use. Furthermore, both the sticks and buttons have been designed larger to facilitate easier navigation and interaction. The Lite SE is priced at around $60 and is currently available for pre-order.
